This little smuggler was a washback, which means she was not strong enough to stay out at sea after hatching. She’s also a special case since she’s one of just a few Hawksbill Sea Turtles we see in our waters each year.
We noticed Grogu having a little trouble diving near Hope Sound- a very common condition for sea turtles who have survived a traumatic boating accident like Grogu.
Despite every turtle we're able to save, there are still far too many sad stories like Ewok's. A passing boat noticed Ewok floating in the Boynton Intracoastal, and did their best to save her.
Finn had some trouble at Dania Beach Pier, where she took a bite of the wrong squid and accidentally was caught by a fisherman there.
That's no moon...it's a sea turtle! We picked up little DeathStar at the St. Lucie Powerplant Canal with help from our friends at InWater Research Group.
A friendly fisherman spotted Boba floating near the Lake Worth bridge, and we knew right away that she was one tough cookie based on an old boat strike injury on her carapace.
