Yttrium's Story

Yttrium was rescued by biologists at Inwater Research Group from the St. Lucie Powerplant with severe lacerations from a predator attack to the rear flipper and plastron. Yttrium also presented with Fibropapilloma tumors on the bases of all four flippers.

2021-Mar-08 Eating well and active. Cleared for release by veterinarian.
2021-Mar-02 Wounds healing well and beginning to eat.
2021-Feb-26 In shallow water. Recovering well.
2021-Feb-25 Rescued from St Lucie, FL with predator attack lacerations to the rear flipper and plastron. FP tumors on the bases of all four flippers. Veterinarian performed emergancy surgery to amputate severly injured flipper and remove FP tumors. Supportive medacations started.
