Water's Story

Water was rescued from Anastasia State Park, FL and brought to Whitney Marine Lab. Water was found on the beach presenting fibropapilloma tumors near her front and rear flippers and both eyes. Marine leeches present in inguinal and tail region. Water was transferred to Gumbo Limbo Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility.

2021-Apr-19 Wounds healed. Finished course of medications. Ready for release.
2021-Apr-06 Surgical wounds healing well. No FP tumor regrowth.
2021-Mar-23 Veterinarian removed FP tumor regrowth. Continue honey treatment.
2021-Mar-02 Surgical wounds healing well. Active and eating well.
2021-Feb-23 FP tumor removal surgery performed by veterinarian. Apply chlorhex and honey to surgical wounds daily.
2021-Feb-18 Transferred to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.
2021-Feb-04 Rescued from Anastasia State Park and brought to the Whitney Marine Lab for intial exam and care.
