Laverne Cox's Story

Laverne Cox was rescued from Lighthouse Point, FL with an old boat strike injury to the carapace. Laverne was extremely lethargic and found floating in the intracoastal waterway.

2021-May-01 Raised water level. Lethargic. Resting on bottom.
2021-Apr-30 Rescued from Lighthouse Point, FL and brought to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Begin supportive medications and complete diagnostics bloodwork and radiographs. In shallow water overnight.
