Chungkingosaurus's Story

Chungkingosaurus was rescued from the intake canal of the power plant in St. Lucie, FL. She has boat strikes along her carapace and possibly predator attack's on two of her flippers. She was brought to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center to receive treatment.

2021-Dec-30 Barnacles removed from plastron and chlorex used to clean plastron. Started to remove barnacles from carapace. Placed in another fresh water bath. 
2021-Dec-28 Rescued from intake canal of power plant in St. Lucie, FL.  Taken to Gumbo Limbo to recieve medical treatment. Her carapace has boat strikes and two of her front flippers were lacerated from possbile predator attacks. Her carapce was covered in barnicles and leeches. Began supportive medications and completed diagnostics bloodwork and radiographs. Placed in freshwater bath to help kill off barnacles and leeches.
