Vino's Story

Vino was rescued from North Palm Beach, FL near Little Munyon Island. She was caught by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission during their fish population research survey. Due to her large load of fibropapilloma tumors around the rear flippers, she was admitted to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for treatment.

2021-Feb-24 Released in Riveria Beach, FL.
2021-Feb-16 Cleared for release by veterinarian.
2021-Feb-02 Active and eating well.
2021-Jan-26 Surgical wounds healing well. Continue applying honey daily. 
2021-Jan-19 FP tumor removal surgery was performed. Apply honey to surgical sites daily.
2021-Jan-05 PCV is increasing. FP removal surgery pending healthy bloodwork parameters.
2020-Dec-04 Begin treatment for anemia. Monitor PCV.
2020-Nov-20 CT scan. Clear of internal tumors.
2020-Nov-09 Eating well and very active!
2020-Nov-03 Large tumors surgically removed. Tumor weighed over 1.2lbs!
2020-Oct-29 In shallow water. Showing some interest in food.
2020-Oct-28 Rescued from North Palm Beach, FL by FWC with large fibropapilloma tumors. Started on supportive medications.
