Junebug's Story

Junebug was rescued from Fort Pierce, FL. She appeared lethargic and had a heavy barnacle load concentrated on the rear half of her carapace due to prolonged inactivity.

2020-Apr-9 Released.
2020-Apr-8 Cleared for release by veterinarian. Applied flipper and pit tags.
2020-Apr-5 Eating well and active. Carapace is healing well. Continue MLS laser and honey treatments. 
2020-Mar-6 Veterinarian removed all barnacles from carapace. Started on MLS laser therapy and honey & silver sulfadiazine treatments to carapace daily.
2020-Mar-3 Transported to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center by Ecological Associates, Inc. Freshwater bath to remove barnacles from carapace. Began supportive medications.
2020-Mar-2 Rescued from Fort Pierce, FL due to lethargic behavior.
