Pluto's Story

Pluto was rescued from the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier after ingesting a fishing hook. After a successful hook removal surgery, Pluto recovered and was released from Spanish River Park with an acoustic transmitter and a satellite transmitter. 2019-Jun-28 Released from Red Reef Park.
2019-Jun-27 Wounds treated with honey. X-ray confirmed no internal hooks. Cleared for release.
2019-Jun-26 Rescued from Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier for the second time. Acoustic tag and satellite transmitter still intact. Hook removed before arrival.
2019-May-30 Released from Spanish River Park.
2019-Apr-30 Sutures removed. Recovering well.
2019-Apr-17 Underwent successful hook removal surgery.
2019-Apr-16 Rescued from Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier and brought to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Hook lodged in throat.
