Nightcrawler's Story

Nightcrawler was rescued from the FPL Power Plant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with crushing injuries to his carapace. The wounds were fresh and immediately cleaned and bandaged and will be monitored closely as his carapace heals.

2020-Feb-27 Public release held at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton, Florida.
2020-Feb-11 Cleared for release by veterinarian. Discontinue MLS laser therapy and honey treatments.
2019-Jan-7 Routine wound debridement. Continue laser and honey treatments.
2019-Jan-1 Finished course of medications.
2019-Dec-15 Completed wound V.A.C. treatment. Begin MLS laser therapy and honey application daily.
2019-Nov-24 Began intermittent time swimming in tank with wound V.A.C. bandage attached. Continue regular bandage changes. 
2019-Nov-19 Continue regular bandage changes and wound V.A.C. therapy. Dry docked. 
2019-Nov-12 Applied wound V.A.C. bandage and started negative pressure wound therapy. 
2019-Nov-8 Wounds cleaned and bandaged. Started on antibiotic medications. Dry docked to protect wounds.
