Weasley's Story

Weasley was rescued from Cape Canaveral covered in barnacles. He was brought to Brevard Zoo Sea Turtle Healing Center and later transferred to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Internal infection was discovered, and after making a full recovery, Weasley was released from Pineda Beach Park in St. Lucie County.

2019-May-21 Released at Pineda Beach Park in St. Lucie County
2019-May-10 Discontinued MLS laser therapy and honey treatments.
2019-Apr-16 Changed honey soak duration to 15 minutes daily. Continue MLS laser therapy daily.
2019-Apr-09 Discontinued antibiotics medication and switched to iron and vitamin B supplements as directed by veterinarian from results of bloodwork. Continued wound care.
2019-Mar-02 Missing keratin patches on carapace filling in with granuloma. Shell is becoming less sensitive. Continue wound care.
2019-Feb-16 Started on nebulizer treatment daily for pneomonia.
2019-Feb-12 Barnacles caused keratin to peel off of carapace. Began honey & silver sulfadiazine treatments daily. Began MLS laser therapy daily.
2019-Feb-11 Transferred to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Freshwater bath given to remove barnacles.
2019-Feb-11 Rescued from Cape Canaveral and taken to the Brevard Zoo Sea Turtle Healing Center
