Rover's Story

Rover was rescued from Dollman Beachside Park in St. Lucie County, caught in sargassum in the surf and extremely lethargic. After being taken to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, tests showed that caryospora parasite was present in Rover's digestive tract. After making a full recovery, Rover was released at Walton Rocks Beach in St. Lucie County.

2019-May-28 No signs of caryospora parasite. Continue treatment and take bloodwork.
2019-May-11 Caryospora parasite discovered in digestive tract. Switched medications to treat parasite under direction of veterinarian.
2019-May-01 Rescued from Dollman Beachside Park in St. Lucie County, tangled in sargassum and lethargic. Taken to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and started on antibiotic medication.
