Parks for Pollinators: BioBlitz

Parks for Pollinators, BioBlizBecome a citizen scientist!  Help contribute to the scientific community by adding your own data, all you need is your camera phone!

Pollinators are essential to our ecosystem and without which we would not be able to eat.  They are facing a decline and action needs to be taken.  Join us at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for an opportunity to work alongside us in scouting out all of our pollinators and the plants they call home.  We will start with a presentation to learn all about pollinators and how to use the app iNaturalist to collect our data.  We will then go out into our butterfly garden and photograph the pollinators and their host plants to upload this valuable data which scientists will use for years.  We will wrap up the day by getting to know local native plant gardeners, take home native plant seeds and have the opportunity to purchase native garden plants for your own home.
