Summer Group Tours, Self-Guided Tours, and Field Trips

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reservations for Summer Group Tours, Self-Guided Tours, and Field Trips have been postponed until further notice.

Any group of ten (10) or more, who plans to visit Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in passenger vans or buses, Monday- Friday, must make an advanced reservation.

Groups are sent bus/van passes in advance once the reservation is confirmed. Please present your pass to the Park Ranger upon arriving. Groups without reservations and/or bus passes will be turned away.

Summer Camp Field Trips

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center offers summer camp field trips from June 8th, 2020 to July 30th, 2020. Choose either morning or afternoon sessions, Monday through Friday, Guided at 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM, or Self-Guided at 11:30 AM, lasting 1½ hours.  Guided tours begin in the classroom with a lesson about barrier island habitats, followed by a guided scavenger hunt around the park, on the trails, and at the aquariums!  We do not have facilities for lunch here on the property, but groups may get a bus pass for Red Reef Park to eat lunch there before or after their tour.

*50 campers maximum. The above summer camp tours must be pre-registered with GLNC. A 50% deposit is due upon reservation of summer camp tours.

Adult Group Tours

All groups are required to register in advance (no drop-ins allowed), and are scheduled based upon availability of staff and facilities.  Please call Susan Elliott at 561-544-8606 for more information or to request a tour. There is a $5 per person donation request for both guided and self-guided group tours.

Our four outdoor aquariums, butterfly garden, FAU observation gallery, Ashley Trail, and indoor Nature Center are all open and available to explore. Visitors enjoy learning about coastal Florida inside the Nature Center, with our interactive displays and live animals (snakes, anoles, and golden orb weaver spider).

Visit our Gift Shop, located in the Nature Center, which sells not only tee shirts and books, but a wide variety of educational toys and “Green Living” products.
