STEAM through September

We need you, budding environmental scientist! Gumbo Limbo Nature Center would like to invite you to participate in this year’s Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz! Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is part of this years STEAM through September!

Through citizen science projects like our BioBlitz, kids, families, and communities can work together with parks agencies to document, analyze, and protect the local pollinator population.

Step 1: Download the “iNaturalist” app to your phone. You will be asked to log in or create an iNaturalist account (you will need to do this to join our project).

Step 2: Join the Gumbo Limb BioBlitz! Starting Septemebr 1, go to our project page on iNaturalist by clickng the link or scan the QR code then join the hunt. Note, you need to log in using your iNaturalist account before you can join.

Step 3: Start taking photographs of everything that might be related to pollinators: butterflies, bees and other insects, caterpillars, chrysalis, eggs, and plants! The app guesses the species immediately, and then experts will review your photos! It will automatically link up to our page!
