Migration Madness is our first Summer Activity Series! We are kicking off with a virtual 10K in partnership with BadAss But it doesn’t have to stop there! You can continue to add up miles all summer long to see how far we can go for Gumbo Limbo.
We will continuously add up our miles and compare them to not just the turtles we track, but also sea turtle average migration distances on our social media feeds this summer.
Sea turtles cruise around in the water around 2.9 miles per hour on average, so for every hour of physical activity you can earn 3 miles, and for every sustainable switch you can earn 2 miles!
If you don’t want to run or walk this summer, you can head over to Force-E and SCUBA or snorkel and rack up 4 miles for every hour in the water.
If you swim, hike, bike, or rollerblade make sure to track your time or your miles and submit them on your form to add them to the total.
Our hope is to help everyone get more active in nature, and to become stewards of the land around them!
Register with the button at the top of the page to receive your form to track your mileage this summer. Coastal Stewards will receive a link to a special reduced registration rate!
