After Hurricane Irma hit Florida on September 11th, 2017, immediate attention was needed for thousands of sea turtle babies that had been washed back from the ocean onto the beaches. Due to the tidal surges and strong waves, it becomes very difficult for the baby turtles to get into deeper water.
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and property will be closed on three days during the holiday season. We will be closed on: Thursday, November 23 Monday, December 25 Monday, January 1 Other than those days, our regular hours apply: Nature Center & Aquariums:
Gumbo Limbo's International Coastal Clean-up has been rescheduled for October 28. Please note the we will meet at Gumbo Limbo, and clean the beaches in Red Reef and South Beach Parks. Pease register for this date (if you registered for the September date we need a new registration for this date).

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center will resume regular hours on Sept 18. Our hatchling drop off box is available on the front porch of the nature center. Please do not place water or other items in the cooler with the hatchlings. Please call 1-888-404-FWCC to report sea turtle emergencies. Thank you.
