Turtle Walk

Hatchling Release

 What is a ...?

A fun, educational evening program about sea turtles beginning in the Classroom, followed by a walk along the beach… and the chance to see a nesting loggerhead turtle!

An exciting and unique program about sea turtles beginning in the Classroom, followed by a trip to the beach to watch Gumbo Limbostaff release baby sea turtles into the ocean!

 Are there age limits?

Children must be at least  8 years old for Turtle Walks.  Minors under the age of 18 must attend with an adult.

Hatchling Releases are for all ages.  Minors under the age of 18 must attend with an adult.

 When do the programs occur?

Thurs: May 17, 24, 31; every Tues, Wed, & Thurs from June 5-July 12 (no program July 4).

The program will begin promptly at 8:45 pm, and ends after one loggerhead is seen (not guaranteed), or at 12:00 am, whichever occurs first.

Doors open at 8:30 pm for check in.

Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs:
July 16-Aug 9
8:00–9:30 pm

Aug 13-Sept 6 (no program Sept 3)
7:30–9:00 pm

Doors open 15 minutes before program start time for check in.

Do Members get a discount?

Friends of Gumbo Limbo Members receive a discount on a specific number of reservations (dependent on Membership level), and are eligible to participate in Members-Only Reservations.  Become a Member by visiting:

How do I make reservations?

Advanced reservations are required.  Reservations can only be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com, or by calling 1-800-838-3006.  To expedite check in, bring your email confirmation with you the night of your program.

When can I make reservations?

Members can make reservations starting at 9:00 am on May 7, 2018.

General Reservations begin at 9:00 am on May 14.

Members can make reservations starting at 9:00 am on June 4, 2018.

General Reservations begin at 9:0 am on June 11.

How much are reservations?

$10 each for Members-Only Reservations

$17 each for General Reservations

How many reservations can I make?

General Reservations: 6

Individual Memberships: 2
Family Memberships: 6
Donor/Contributor Memberships: 10

Members may purchase additional reservations during General Reservations; general price and limits apply.

Reservation Policy

Only participants with reservations will be admitted.   We do not accept walk-ins or maintain a wait list.


Refund Policy

There are no refunds or rescheduling due to weather.   There is a strict refund window.  Greater than 72 hours prior to the event start time, refunds will be allowed for guests via the Brown Paper Tickets support line at 1-800-838-3006.  Within this 72 hours of the program, guests will not be issued refunds to the event.  Refunds that are processed by Brown Paper Tickets will immediately be made available for sale; if you are looking for reservations, keep checking the link for Turtle Walk Reservations for availability.
