Volunteer

Volunteers contribute more than 22,000 hours annually.  That is the equivalent of 11 full-time staff members.

We have many volunteer opportunities for ages 16 and up. Volunteering at Gumbo Limbo is fun, rewarding, and will help grow your personal knowledge of our local coastal and marine environments.  Even if you are unable to stand on your feet for long periods, or are not able to work outside in the heat, we still have volunteer opportunities available for you.

All new volunteers are required to:

  • Be at least 16 years of age*
  • Attend a six hour, two part training session
  • Submit a $35 fee which includes the cost of your volunteer t-shirt, name badge, and training manual
