Sea Tank Project
After patiently waiting for our sea tanks to be replaced, we are finally beginning this project! The project went out to bid in January and Brang Construction was selected. The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District originally set aside $1 million for this project. Because such favorable bids were received, the District unanimously voted to approve an additional $1 million to complete the entire project rather than phasing it over a few years. Test pilings were a success! The heavy equipment is busy drilling, installing and pouring. Pilings are in progress!

While it does not look like much is going, there is really important stuff happening! The construction crew has been working with the tests pilings that were installed about 2 weeks ago. After the cement is poured, it takes 7 days to set. Then the pilings undergo a pressure test. Successful tests mean the remaining pilings can be installed!

The big equipment is still here, doing what they need to do!

The heavy equipment has been moving in! A HUGE crane has arrived, and it is at work!

The demolition is just about complete. The tanks are gone. The walkways that were surrounding the tanks are gone. Trees have been moved. Ground has been smoothed.
Many of the trees that were in the tanks area have been moved to other areas of the property. Next time you drive in, you'll notice gumbo limbo trees in the grassy area on the south side of the driveway. On the north side, you'll see six cabbage palms. Talk a walk around the North trail and down by the Chiki, and you might see some other relocated trees!
