Sea Turtle Day

SEA TURTLE DAY: HEALTHY BEACHES START WITH YOU! Join us at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for our annual Sea Turtle Day! Celebrate sea turtles, marine life, and our oceans as well as our terrestrial species and habitats in a fun-filled family day of environmental education. All species and habitats are interconnected; learn what conservation actions you can take in your daily life to help make our world a better, cleaner place to live. Green Turtle Gallop & Turtle Trot

Friends of Gumbo Limbo presents the 3nd Annual Green Turtle Gallop 10K run and 1-mile Turtle Trot, to be held on April 1, 2012. The event starts at 7:15 am in Spanish River Park, Boca Raton. The proceeds will support Gumbo Limbo Nature Center’s Sea Turtle Conservation and Rehabilitation programs. Last year the Green Turtle Gallop attracted more than 600 participants. We are seeking volunteers to assist on race morning to make this race a success. If you are interested in volunteering, please email greenturtlegallop@hotmail.com. Date: April 1, 2012 Time: 7:15 am for the 10K, 7:20 am for the 1-mile Turtle Trot Location: Spanish River Park, Boca Raton Course: 10K certified course along A1A and Spanish River Park in Boca Raton Awards for the 10K: Top 3 male/female overall, top 3 masters, 3 deep in 5 year age groups from 14 & under to 80+
